Notary Disclosure

IMPORTANT NON-ATTORNEY NOTICE

I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW IN TEXAS AND MAY NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE OR ACCEPT FEES FOR LEGAL ADVICE.

NO SOY ABOGADA CON LICENCIA PARA EJERCER EL DERECHO EN TEXAS Y NO PUEDO DAR ASESORÍA LEGAL NI ACEPTAR HONORARIOS POR ASESORÍA LEGAL.

LIMITS OF NOTARIAL SERVICES

The Certified Society LLC provides Texas notarial services only within the authority permitted by law. A notary public is an impartial witness to a notarial act and is not authorized, solely by virtue of the notary commission, to provide legal advice.

We do not select legal documents for clients, determine the legal effect of a document, choose a notarial certificate for a client when that choice would constitute legal advice, or advise a signer regarding legal rights or legal consequences.

The signer or requesting party is responsible for providing the document and for determining the type of document and notarial act required. If the signer does not know what document, certificate, or legal action is required, the signer should consult the receiving agency or a licensed attorney.

IMMIGRATION-RELATED LIMITATION

My commission as a Texas Notary Public does not authorize me to determine immigration eligibility, select immigration forms or benefits, recommend immigration strategy, advise how substantive immigration questions should be answered, prepare immigration documents in a manner prohibited by Texas law, or represent a person before USCIS or another government agency.

Where permitted, separate translation, typing, copying, scanning, printing, and other purely clerical services may be provided based solely on information and instructions supplied by the client. Those clerical services are not legal advice.

NOTARIAL FEES & OTHER CHARGES

Fees for official Texas notarial acts are subject to applicable Texas statutory limits. Travel, convenience, printing, copying, administrative, shipping, translation, apostille, or other non-notarial charges are separate from the statutory notarial fee when applicable and are disclosed to the client.

IDENTIFICATION & PERSONAL APPEARANCE

Signers must personally appear when required by law and must provide satisfactory identification or otherwise meet applicable Texas identification requirements. The notary may refuse a notarization when legal requirements are not satisfied, when identity or willingness cannot be established, or when the notary has reasonable concerns regarding fraud, coercion, capacity, or the lawfulness of the requested act.

NO LEGAL ADVICE

If you need advice about your legal rights, the legal effect of a document, immigration eligibility, the correct legal document to use, the type of notarial certificate required, or whether a document will accomplish your intended legal purpose, please consult a licensed attorney or other properly authorized professional.
